TREATMENT INTRA ARTICULAR INJECTION
Joint problems are often very painful. Sometimes it can be of help wheb your doctor gives you an injection into the joint. Your GP will discuss this with you when consulting. A mixture of an anaesthetic agent [ effective in less than ten minutes ] and a anti-inflammatory agent [ effective in less than four days ] will be injected into the joint. When a joint is treated like this, you notice that after washing out of the anaesthetic, the pain gradually increases, to gradually decrease in the next two to three days. It might be necessary to repeat such an injection for two to three times.
