TREATMENT INGROWING TOENAIL
Ingrowing toenails are a common condition which, when recurrent and painful, are often treated surgically. Firstly the doctor can try to lift the nail to decrease pressure. In more severe cases the doctor will use surgical treatment. After administering a local anaesthetic agent, the GP will remove a piece of the toe nail. It is known that after the anaesthetic wears out your toe can hurt. It is wise to take two paracetamol tablets of 500 mg each, right after surgery. Your toe will be bandaged and appointments are made for check-up.
